Welcome Back to 2023!

Welcome Back to 2023!

Welcome back to school! Whether you are a brand-new family or have been with us for many years, we’re so glad you’re with us and we’re looking forward to another year of learning and discovery together! It has also been so exciting to welcome 17 new staff to the College across both the Junior and Senior school. We are fortunate that our experienced team of staff continues to grow and with that comes a range of experiences and knowledge!

Over the Christmas break building works have continued across the College – the ring road is finally complete!  We are still waiting for the occupation certificate but look forward to the road allowing greater connectivity across the College. The expansion and development of the current K Block building is well underway. The two additional classrooms will be complete later this term. These multi-function classroom spaces will include operable walls so that the rooms can be used individually, or opened up in a range of configurations to allow for collaborative learning, year group or house meetings as well as more formal events such as performances or examinations. As always it is the students who remain the number one priority; and I am so excited for this further development of the College as we build facilities that foster the love of learning.

Along with so many of our College families, I am looking forward to experiencing my first Community Fair and Open Day on Saturday 4 March from 10.00am to 2.00pm. The fun-filled day will include carnival rides and show bags, food trucks, Open Classrooms, stalls, competitions and much more! It is a major P&F Fundraiser and we would love to see everyone get involved! Check out the College website for further details.

Shellharbour Anglican College continues its tradition of excellence in the NSW Higher School Certificate and congratulates the class of 2022 for their outstanding HSC results. We commend all Year 12 students who demonstrated a balanced approach to their studies and an attitude of commitment as many continued to be actively involved in the life of the school and the broader community. Students achieved 11 Band 6s (or notional Band 6s) in nine courses. 62% of students achieved either at least one Band 5, Band 6 or an E4, with many other students achieving their personal best, and that is the most exciting thing of all! View our Pursuing Tomorrow – HSC Achievements 2022 Magazine here.

Learning is an adventure at Shellharbour Anglican College. This year we know we have many exciting opportunities to give your children a rich and rewarding learning environment. The wonderful thing about our growth is our capacity to increase opportunities and experiences for all of our students, as well as a greater social and cultural diversity. Our rich co-curricular program and supportive wellbeing and pastoral care provide a wonderful opportunity to help your children grow into curious, creative and hopeful young people who lead lives of purpose and courage.

I am looking forward to journeying with you during the year ahead! Jesus tells us that he has come to give us life and life to the full. Our hope and prayer is that this may be realised in your children’s life at the College!
