Hi! My name is Jasmin Cooper and I am a Stage 3 classroom teacher.
We have recently moved to the area! My family and I were initially attracted to the natural beauty of the region. The beaches are incredible, and everyone is so kind and friendly. After our enrolment interview for our son with Mr McPhail we were convinced that Shellharbour Anglican College was a community we wanted to be a part of. We are excited about the way the school is taking decisive action towards sustainability and the part we can play in that journey.
This is my 12th year of teaching. I was a tap-dancing teacher for ten years before that. I have experience in floristry and very unsuccessfully worked as a dental assistant for a brief period of time before starting my training as a primary school teacher.
Professionally, I have had many wonderful opportunities in curriculum. This is my area of passion. I love educational research and learning how I can best support my students to achieve their goals. I was previously a curriculum adviser supporting teachers through the requirements of registration, implementing new curriculum documents and evidence-based practices.
I am so excited to be a classroom teacher again after being in education leadership. As much as I love supporting other teachers, my favourite thing to do is to work with students in an ongoing sustained way. I love the range and depth of subject matter that you can learn about in stage 3. I feel honoured that student’s trust me to be a part of their learning journey. I’m excited to have my own class and work closely with families in the community.
