Shellharbour Anglican College is committed to the provision of strong academic and pastoral care foundations necessary to encourage all students to achieve personal excellence. As we seek to encourage students to use and develop their God-given gifts, we are pleased to continue our Music Scholarships as an addition to the current Academic Scholarship program.
A number of Music Scholarships offering partial fee remission are being made available for 2022.
They will be available to students currently enrolled at the College or at other schools. They will be offered to students who are currently in Years 6, 8 and 10.
Year 7 – Designed for students in Year 6 of primary school during 2021, for entry into Year 7 in 2022.
Year 9 – Designed for students in Year 8 of secondary school during 2021, for entry into Year 9 in 2022.
Year 11 – Designed for students in Year 10 of secondary school during 2021, for entry into Year 11 in 2022.
Criteria Specifically for Music Scholarships
Music Scholarships are available for students of Music who have been learning an instrument from a qualified music teacher and who may have been studying for music examinations. Scholarships are awarded on merit. The number of scholarships awarded varies from year to year.
Auditions for Music Scholarships will be held in the afternoon following the ACER Scholarship Test. In 2021 this will be TBC. Each audition will take approximately half an hour. Candidates will be notified of their audition time a week prior to the audition.
The Music Audition will consist of:
- Sight Reading Test
- General Knowledge
