The Junior School Library is always buzzing with excitement!

It is a teaching classroom for Junior School weekly lessons and a resource centre where students and staff can borrow fiction, information books and resources. The iPads in the Library are used with classes to access the internet, electronic information books and online learning activities.

Lessons are designed to assist students to locate, choose and evaluate information, encourage the development of a love of reading for pleasure and knowledge gathering. Library staff collaborate with classroom teachers in linking learning in the Library to units of work in the classroom. Students are encouraged in our Library environment to be creative in their application of information to learning and to enjoy the experience of reading.

A variety of lunchtime activities are appreciated by students and range from designated craft activities through to “maker space” lunchtimes where the only limits are the imagination of the students!
