Learning support is based on an inclusive model where support for students with additional learning needs is typically provided within the context of the regular classroom with quality differentiation. We also provide small group support for students in literacy and numeracy and in some cases individual support. The Learning Support team works collaboratively with classroom teachers, parents, pastoral care staff and outside professionals to establish teaching and learning strategies that assist the student to work from their strengths and achieve their potential.
Once a student has been identified as needing specific adjustments, appropriate strategies are identified and documented in the form of either an Individual Program (IP) or a Student Profile (SP). Where appropriate, evidence is gathered and an application made to NESA for students in Stage 6 requiring HSC Disability Provisions.
