Can you tell us your name, and which grade/subject you teach?
P: My name is Paul Sanders, and I currently teach Technology and Applied Studies (TAS), which includes Industrial Timber and Construction in Year 11.
How long have you been teaching?
P: I have had a few careers in my short life. I’ve been a Landscape tradesperson working in the Northern Beaches of Sydney and in the Illawarra, owned my own business, worked as a Youth Minister in a local Church and now a teacher in North Western Sydney and the Illawarra. I’ve been teaching for 15 years.
What brought you to Shellharbour Anglican College? How long have you been here?
P: My friend and various colleagues from my teaching career encouraged me to apply for a teaching position. I’ve been apart of Shellharbour Anglican College since the start of this year and am having a fantastic time.
What do you love about Shellharbour Anglican College?
P: There are so many things I love about the College, the opportunities students have at the College to be their best and reach their potential. And the opportunity to work alongside quality Christian educators.
How does Shellharbour go beyond a regular school? What makes us different?
P: The variety of opportunities students have to be involved in the life of the College. The difference is the environment to thrive in.
We’ve recently experienced a lot of change here at the College – what excites you most about the future of Shellharbour?
P: I love change! I see it as an opportunity to grow and face new challenges. I’m excited that more families can join our Community and that they will hear about Jesus. I’m also excited about new subject choice opportunities such as Construction. It’s a great opportunity for students.
What do you love about living in the Illawarra region?
P: The Illawarra is beautiful! The beaches and escarpment and the adventures that these provide are amazing. I would also say I love the people, they are down to earth and real.

P: Shellharbour Anglican College is a place where students/staff feel a sense of belonging, in a safe and nurturing Christian environment.
