Our Story

Shellharbour Anglican College is a leading Prep to Year 12 school, just south of Wollongong on NSW South Coast. Situated on a spacious green campus and close to the sea, in an area rich in cultural heritage, stretching back thousands of years with the Wadi Wadi people living in the region. Our families come from a diverse range of backgrounds, and as the Illawarra grows, we are excited to grow and change with our community.

The College opened in 2004, with 93 students and our first Year 12 cohort graduated in 2009, having grown to 510 students coming from 400 families and drawing from Berry through to Thirroul.  Now we have over 700 students attending, from a diverse range of backgrounds.

We achieved outstanding results in the 2019 HSC, with the second highest results in the Illawarra region. This is an achievement that our staff and students can be rightfully proud of. These Year 12 students demonstrated a balanced approach to their studies and an attitude of commitment as many continued to be actively involved in the life of the school and the broader community.
